Imagine that you are a student at the University of Toledo. You attend a full-time schedule and are only a few semesters away from graduating. You are unable to work full-time because doing so would not allow you to keep the 3.5 GPA that you have worked so hard to maintain. Imagine having to depend on your excess financial aid to help pay for crucial living expenses such as the ever-rising cost of food and fuel in addition to your books and supplies.

You look forward to receiving an influx of funds as soon as the school semester begins. Imagine that you also have two children who depend on you at the same time. Now, imagine the University of Toledo holding up those funds with no care how it affects you, with no announcements letting you know there was going to be a major delay in these refunds - while the university changes a computer system.

The handling of the student accounts and financial aid refund process during the computer changeover has been ridiculous for students. Not all students at the University of Toledo have the luxury of parent-paid housing and living expenses. Not all students have a savings account to utilize in the case of an emergency. Some of the students depend on those funds that are usually sent when classes start. By delaying refunds and having a staff that can't answer questions or give definitive dates is irresponsible for the school.

It gives a "we don't care" attitude towards these adult students trying to make a major difference in their lives and the lives of their children.
