Mike Betz and Breanne Democko won the Student Government Presidential election Thursday night with 1,739 votes. Terry Biel and Allison Dow took second place with 1,382 votes. Betz and Democko both said they were surprised by the results. "My stomach is still turning," Democko said.

The first candidate for the open position of dean of the College of Arts and Sciences said she prefers the college to stay together and not split arts and sciences. Speaking to a group of about 25 faculty and administration members during an open interview, D'Ann Campbell said in the two cases in which she was involved, the results of dismantling the arts and the sciences was not good.

A former chairwoman of the Black Panther Party, Elaine Brown, encourages everyone to petition against the death penalty. America is still fighting racism, and blacks' education level is "lost," Brown said, adding that one percent or less of black people own a business.
