The physician shortage crisis is about to get worse, according to a health care conference on Friday morning. "We are approaching the perfect storm," said Jeff Gold, dean of the College of Medicine. Gold showed a map of the United States depicting which states were in dire need of physicians; Ohio was listed as one of the states in crisis, but its neighbor Indiana was listed as OK for now.
University of Toledo Dean of the College of Health Science and Human Service Jerome Sullivan announced that he will step down from his position at the end of the semester. According to Tobin Klinger, senior director of university communications, Sullivan sent out an e-mail to members of the college on March 30 stating that he was stepping down.
