After a tough loss to conference and divisional foe Western Michigan University last Saturday, the Rockets will look to avenge their pride and their season this Saturday when they take on Liberty University for this year's homecoming game. Chuck Ealey, the University of Toledo's starting quarterback from 1969 to 1971, is that quarterback. The UT men's tennis team competed in the Valpo Fall Classic in Valparaiso, Ind., and won four brackets of the tournament. Junior Jared Miller took the A singles bracket with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Sebastian Lystad of the University of Illinois-Chicago. Miller partnered with Jayson Miller to win the B doubles bracket against a team from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
After opening their season with an exhibition against each other, the Rockets swimming and diving team host Lewis University today for its first actual meet. "I'm excited about getting the season started," said Head Coach Lars Jorgensen. "Lewis is one of the top Division II programs in the country and will make us work hard in each of the events in order to win.
