For the second-straight season UT's soccer team won the Mid-American Conference championship in a dramatic 3-2 shootout victory over No. 4 seed Bowling Green State University. "This [was] one of the most remarkable matches that I've ever been associated with," said Head Coach Brad Evans.

The UT men's basketball team suffered a 77-70 loss to the visiting Vanderbilt University Tuesday night at Savage Hall. The Rockets (1-1) are now 44-5 all-time against non-conference opponents at home under Head Coach Stan Joplin and 0-4 against the Commodores (1-1).

The Rockets are likely out of contention for a bowl game and are still winless on the road after falling 41-20 to Ball State University Tuesday night. An even tougher loss for the team could be the loss of sophomore quarterback Aaron Opelt, who appeared to reinjure his left ankle on a first-down scramble at the start of the fourth quarter.
