Karbula and Harden

Kristina Karbula, the current Student Government vice president and a senior majoring in political science and business administration, is running with Sam Harden, the current SG vice chairman and also a senior with the same major, for this year’s SG election.

•Enhance communication by holding monthly student-run forums, each with different topics such as safety and awareness, health and wellness, on- and off-campus housing and parking. They plan to build upon the current success of their safety forums

•Work to make parking policies more efficient by bringing back the Gold Loop. The bus loop travels to off-campus housing such as the Bancroft Hills neighborhood to bring students to and from campus. Karbula and Harden said they have been working hard since its implementation to streamline the Gold Loop Service

Carter and D’Apolito

Mark Carter, a student senator and a sophomore majoring in political science, is running with Mark D’Apolito, also a student senator and a sophomore with the same major.

•Promote student  awareness and campus involvement

•Increase areas for free speech, making it easier to promote involvement

•Improve relations with non-students in the neighborhoods surrounding UT to increase positive communication and safety
•Establish a Student Government liaison to City Council to keep students informed and lobby on their behalves

•Strive to expand the joint UTPD/Toledo Police Department 618 unit operation

•Reform maintenance procedures to be more student-centered and effective

Davy and Gochenour

Brad Davy, the president of college democrats and a junior majoring in political science and public administration, is running with Andrew Gochenour, a junior majoring in finance.

•Implement a “Walking Pass” to encourage students to walk and ease parking congestion

•Work with shoe stores and bike shops to give discounts to students with a “Walking Pass” to encourage a “greener,” more traditional style campus

•Bring another large-scale concert to UT by implementing an optional events fee on student accounts. Those students who pay the small fee will get a free ticket to the event; those opting out must purchase tickets at regular price

•Work with the College of Business to develop a program for business students to design, implement and manage their own real-life businesses

Weaver and Wise

Krystal Weaver, a student trustee, student senator and junior majoring in pharmacy, is running with Rachael Wise, who’s in the SG cabinet, is the Panhellenic Council* president and is a junior majoring in marketing and sales.

•Optional trays in the dining halls, allowing students to choose if they want to be “green” or not

•Relieve library congestion by opening unused computer classrooms during peak hours and allow laptop checkouts during all hours

•Start an annual scholarship competition for best green ideas for the university and city
•Itemize and reform Student General Fees so students know exactly for what they’re paying

• Work with city officials and the UT Foundation to get Nebraska Avenue repaired

•Work with the UT Police Department to develop a strategy to station officers in problem areas, specifically around Dowd,  Nash and White halls
