From last year to this year, UT's spring enrollment numbers witnessed a slight decrease.

According to numbers released Tuesday, Toledo diminished an approximate 2 percent from 21,122 to 20,673 and undergraduate figures show a 1.8 percent fall to 16,108.

The lower numbers follow the trend set by the Fall 2011 enrollment figures.

UT has been finding ways to tighten its admission standards while keeping the open-enrollment status. New admission standards include the submission of an ACT score.

Vice President of External Affairs Larry Burns told The Blade the eventual undergraduate population goal is 20,000 and the university is working toward ways to find opportunities to expand.
