Volleyball falls to WMU

The University of Toledo women’s volleyball team came up short, 3-1, on the road Nov. 10 against Western Michigan. 

 

The first two sets were identical, 25-18, but Toledo won a close third set, 26-24, to extend the match. UT was neck and neck with WMU in the fourth set, but lost 25-23. 

 

Four UT players reached double-digits in kills. Fourth-years Saige Thomas and Annie Beasley each collected 11. Fourth-year Rachel Vidourek and first-year Chloee Kleespies each collected 10. 

 

Carly Townsend, third-year, collected 41 of the Rockets’ 46 assists. Lauren Bakaitis, fourth-year, had a team-high 15 digs. 

 

After four sets, the Rockets tallied 5 aces, 7 blocks, 46 assists, 50 kills and 144 total attacks with a .167 hitting percentage.  

 

The midnight blue and gold finished the season with a 12-16 (7-9 MAC) record.
