On Saturday, the University of Toledo women’s golf team competed in the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
Third-year Pinyada Kuvanun finished two shots out of the lead while UT placed 13th the first two rounds. Kuvanun scored a one-under par-143 (73-70) at OSU's par-72, 6,319-yard Scarlet Course.
Kuvanun started off hot for her second round as she earned three straight birdies before carding a bogey. The rest of her round included 12 pars, as well as a birdie and a bogey. In the opening round, Kuvanun stayed level with 15 pars, two bogeys and one par.
The Rockets improved after their first-round score by 12 strokes to finish at 46-over 622 (317-305). Second-year Saranlak Tumfong shot a two-over 74 in the second round and tied for 58th place at 13-over 157, while third-year Hannah Kochendoerfer tied for 65th place at 15-over par 159 after shooting a five-over 77 in the second round.
Finishing off the Rockets were third-year Pimchanok Kawil (T-77th/79-84=163), second-year Thunpijja Sukkasem (T-83rd/84-85=169) and third-year Natcha Daengpiem (85th/89-85=174). Second-year Donchanok Toburint competed as an individual and tied for 72nd place at 17-over par 161 (83-78).
Sunday’s final rounds were canceled due to inclement weather.
The Rockets will now enter postseason play in the Mid-American Conference in Naperville, Illinois, on April 20-22.
